Portable, discreet virus detection
Dr.Web CureIt! is user-friendly and fast. Anyone who has ever worked with an antivirus will be familiar with the process - it scans your computer, presents you with a list of problems and offers you a solution.
The beauty of Dr.Web CureIt!, however, is its simplicity. Although it doesn't require installation, it provides a comprehensive scan and has many of the configuration options you would expect with a fuller-featured version.
Adding to its attraction is that Dr.Web CureIt! is available in a huge variety of languages, comes with an excellent help file, provides you with lots of statistics on its scans and discoveries, and last, but not least, automatically creates log files, in case of over-enthusiastic deletion. Dr.Web CureIt! didn't seem to conflict with any of the antivirus solutions already installed on the test machine, either.
So, in what situation would you use it? Well, perhaps you need to work on a computer that you don't trust completely, or you've offered to help a friend out with some issues he or she has been having. Running a quick scan before starting could put your mind at ease. Even rookie computer users know that they need a real-time antivirus installed on their machines at all times, so Dr.Web CureIt! is strictly an emergency measure - especially taking into account that it doesn't have signature updates.
Dr.Web CureIt! - simple, straightforward safety.

The Noninvasive Alternative Malware Solution .
As a freelance computer tech and developer I am always looking for quick, convenient and effective antivirus alternatives that can easily be transported and deployed and are also consistently reliable to offer to my customers, when their own bloatware solutions prove ineffective. Dr. Web CureIt has been my preferred choice now for almost three years. At first I used it along with others to make sure I covered all the bases, but as time went by I realized that after running CureIt, there was very little if anything for other malware solutions to do. It is now my first, and in most cases, my only recommendation. No other malware solution is so effective and has so little impact on performance as this program does. For moderately and more advanced skill levels of computer users, it just doesn't get any better than this.
Pros:
No installation, negligible footprint.
Quickly and Seamlessly upgrades to latest versions.
Superbly effective with most (almost all) threats of various kinds.
Hands on, total user control of application.
It's Free! Cons:
User interface is a little non-intuitive. More

Imortant addition to installed anti virus.
good detection and cure. also the live cd is a nice tool to have just in case. its greatest strength and weakness is the same, no need to be installed. best way to run the antivirus is to open 2 to 3 instances of it per hard drive(not partition) and give them different areas to scan. Its much faster that way.
Pros:
Good detection and curing. Does not delete unless infection is inside a archive. Also one of the few things that can get rid of virut56. Since it doesnot need to be installed, viruses looking to block anti virus software misses it.
Cons:
Cant delete infection from a archive. Also as it is not installed, it cannot protect itself from viruses which infect exe files at random. Also the live cd misses files. More

Good Little Proggie.
I've had to use it twice on machines that had a browser hijacker (wsearch) and both times it removed it. It is also small and can be carried on a thumb drive.
Pros:
Updates frequently, small, and good with most malware.
Cons:
Not very fast. More
